Mobile app

After viewing our augmented reality mobile app for the Victoria Art Gallery, Leeds Castle contacted us and asked us to create a mobile application for their 900th anniversary summer trail.

The trail within the app provides clues, a map and a compass to help users find all of the hidden QR markers. When each one is scanned they are given an optional fun activity to complete, from spot the difference puzzles to suggestions like “Roar like a dragon!”

Once all of the markers have been found, they can then enter a weekly prize draw to win a Leeds Castle goodie bag.

In addition to the trail, the application also provides a timer for users to store a scoreboard of their fastest times completing the Leeds Castle hedge maze. This uses QR-codes at the star and end of the maze to start and stop the clock.

Whilst using the app, users can collect “badges” by completing different challenges, or by scanning unique codes at events. This provides a reason for users to retain the app on their devices for future visits.

The badges and hedge maze times can also be saved to a server and retrieved using an email address and encrypted password, in case someone wants to transfer them to a new device.
