Branding and websites

The CWA asked us to update their branding. Their existing logo had been around for years and they felt it needed to be a bit more contemporary and neater. We removed some of the more fussy elements from the logo and used a thinner font weight to make it feel a bit less clunky.

The Crime Writer’s Association wanted to treat the readers of their members’ work by creating a new brand which promoted the latest authors, books and events surrounding the genre.

We started by creating a new logo for the “Crime Readers’ Association” that took elements from the existing CWA logo and was designed to feel more like a consumer-facing sub brand of CWA. We also reversed out the predominantly black branding of the CWA and included splashes of blood and blood-red text as an accent.

Websites

The new CWA website launched in December 2021. It is a large website packed with resources for members and crime readers alike.

The comprehensive member-management system not only allows the organisation to administrate all of their members’ subscriptions through the website, it also permits individual members to log in and manage their profiles and books in the publicly-searchable and search-optimised database.

In addition to this, their award nomination and competition portal gives members and aspiring writers the chance to enter their prestigious Dagger awards and submit stories into annual competitions.
